WOBT Announces Cast For New Theatre Production

Prattville's own Way Off Broadway Theatre will kick off the 2007 season on March 1 with a comedy production - Ghost Of A Chance. Auditions were held last week and the cast has been announced:
Bethany ---------------------------------Rae Ann Collier
Chance ----------------------------------Dave Kelsen
Floyd -----------------------------------Adrian Bramblett
Verna -----------------------------------Margaret White
Crystal ---------------------------------Katherine Perce
Adam ------------------------------------Dave Hendrick

Chance (Dave Kelsen), who died three years ago in a hunting accident. His wife, Bethany (Rae Ann Collier), has arrived at the cabin, flanked by her fiance, Floyd (Adrian Bramblett), and his skeptical mother, Verna (Margaret White), to prepare it for sale. That's when Chance pops up, visible and audible only to Bethany, to try to convince her not to marry Floyd but to stay with him in the cabin forever. Thoroughly freaked out, Bethany brings in a psychic named Crystal (Katherine Perce) to exorcise the place. Dave Hendrick rounds out the cast as potential cabin buyer Adam Lucas.

The audiences will delight in the unseen antics and quick repartee of this engaging comedy directed by John Collier and written by Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus.

Mark your calendars and join WOBT's Opening Night, March 1st, at the Prattville Cultural Arts Center, located at the corner of West 4th and Court Streets, in downtown Prattville. Play dates are: March 1,2,3,4,9,10,11,16,17,18. Evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m.

Christmas Parade Ushers In The Season

The Prattville Christmas Parade was held on Saturday, December 2nd in downtown Prattville and was deemed a rousing success. With 118 entries, representing approximately 3,000 participants, the parade rolled out at 6:00 p.m., to an estimated crowd of over 20,000! This year's theme: All I Want For Christmas Is...., offered many creative and entertaining designs. The winners for best floats were: 1st place - Carol Lemon Realty, 2nd place - Pentecostals of Prattville and 3rd place - Kreatif Hair Design. The judges said that they really had a hard time selecting the best of the best because there were just so many good entries this year. There were far more actual float entries, than in the past.

The crowd was entertained by the Prattville High School Marching Band, the Marbury North Star, Marching Band and even Elvis, with his very own Hound Dog! Mayor Byard, along with his wife, Beverly and children, Marylise and James, cruised down Main Street in style - in a white limousine. Miss Fountain City, Raquel Martin, enjoyed a ride in a beautiful horse-drawn carriage. However, Santa stold the show, as he arrived in his traditional transportation - a Prattville Fire Department fire engine.
