Christmas Parade Ushers In The Season
The Prattville Christmas Parade was held on Saturday, December 2nd in downtown Prattville and was deemed a rousing success. With 118 entries, representing approximately 3,000 participants, the parade rolled out at 6:00 p.m., to an estimated crowd of over 20,000! This year's theme: All I Want For Christmas Is...., offered many creative and entertaining designs. The winners for best floats were: 1st place - Carol Lemon Realty, 2nd place - Pentecostals of Prattville and 3rd place - Kreatif Hair Design. The judges said that they really had a hard time selecting the best of the best because there were just so many good entries this year. There were far more actual float entries, than in the past. The crowd was entertained by the Prattville High School Marching Band, the Marbury North Star, Marching Band and even Elvis, with his very own Hound Dog! Mayor Byard, along with his wife, Beverly and children, Marylise and James, cruised down Main Street in style - in a white limousine. Miss Fountain City, Raquel Martin, enjoyed a ride in a beautiful horse-drawn carriage. However, Santa stold the show, as he arrived in his traditional transportation - a Prattville Fire Department fire engine. Labels: Prattville Events and Activities |
