Mardi Gras Rolls into Prattville

The good times are sure to roll as the 3rd annual Mardi Gras parade hits the streets of downtown Prattville at 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 10th. This year's theme: Mardi Gras Goes to the Movies. Parade-goers are encouraged to join in the fun by coming dressed as their favorite movie stars or movie characters. The parade will begin at Stanley-Jensen stadium, go through downtown and end at the Autauga Co. Courthouse.

This year's grand marshals for the event are JT & Leanne, morning co-hosts of Mix 103 radio. Other parade entries include, Raquel Martin - Miss Fountain City 2007, the Montgomery Shriners, the Montgomery Corvette Club, The Prattville Chamber of Commerce and many more. Last year over 70 entries participated in the parade and over 12,000 people came out to watch the event.
Food vendors will open at 3:00 p.m. in the People's Bank parking lot in downtown. Music will be provided by the Dixieland Jazz band - Swing 'n Dixie.

Parade entries will be accepted up until 5:00 p.m. on February 6th. For more information, call 358-0297 or visit www.prattville.com. Click on Cultural Arts/Special Events and then on Mardi Gras.
